The Beginning of the End
Well the World will never be the same after today!!!!
I have officially joined the Blogging World.
My dear friend Kate has made me decide to jump in and find out what this Blogging fanfare is all about. I believe it will be a terrific way to blow off steam, considering all the steam I have to blow off now and then. Blowing off steam seems to be an extra added attraction for those of us in life who have attained the age of sixty and over. (How depressing is that?)
Anyway I find myself at that stage in my life, be it good or bad, and the worst part is my husband Robert is younger than me by one month and 22 days. And he never fails to remind me of it. I have my revenge when people make the comment of how much younger than him I look.
Of course that almost changed in the last year, as my health went on a roller coaster ride from Hades. To make a long story short, I asked for a stress test in August of 2005 (what was I thinking?), stress test led to arteriogram, arteriogram led to triple bypass surgery without even giving me time to think of what was happening.
Two days after bypass surgery, I had an allergic reaction to Heparin (blood thinner) and it shut down all three bypasses. Balloon surgery to open up one of the bypasses kept me from having a massive heart attack.
O.K. now thing s are going good except they are discussing doing bypass surgery again, as I am putting on my clothes to escape the confines of the hospital.
Recuperating at home, and thought I was doing fine, when I begin having a G.I. bleedout from Cumadin (Dang blood thinner again), and Robert has to 911 me to St Thomas hospital in Nashville again.
Believe me when two big men come in your bathroom and physically remove you from the commode to a stretcher, you know life is over as you know it and you are going on to bigger and better things.
I will not even begin to tell you what transpired in ICU at the hospital.
Suffice it to say 18 units of blood and 42 units of blood products later, I am thinking the next chapter will be the Hospital burns down with me in it. Sounds about right at this point.
End of this go around is... they install 3 stents three months later to open up the bypasses.
Went through all that and wound up with stents anyway !!!!!
Next Phase, start having trouble with leg they harvested the veins out of for the bypass surgery, and they find I have blockage from groin to knee. OKAY, now lets replace artery with an artificial artery and keep this chick going. Had that done in May 2006 and made the major decision at this point that the next time someone cuts on me it will be for a DANG AUTOPSY!!!
Do I sound like an old lady telling you of all her surgeys yet???? Enough of all that, over and past, and with all the good friends I have I made it back to civilization and having a great time.
So here begins my new life and I have decided to share it with the world with a Blog spot.
Stay tuned for the next sixty years of my life......SUUUUUURRRRREEEEE !!!!
